Oasis Family Church

Our main aim is to bring people to Jesus and membership in his family, develop them to Christ like maturity, and equip them for their ministry in the church and mission in the world, in order to magnify God's name.

We like to split this into five different purposes which are based on two scriptures:
Matthew 22 v37-40 The Greatest Commandment
Matthew 28 v19-20 The Great Commission

• WORSHIP "love the Lord your God with all your heart"
• MINISTRY "love your neighbour as yourself"
• EVANGELISM "go and make disciples"
• FELLOWSHIP "baptising them" (becoming part of the body of Christ-belonging.)
• DISCIPLESHIP "teaching them to obey"

These purposes are also found in Acts 2 v42-47

Oasis Family Church meets in Ceewood Hall, Witney and we aim to bring God’s presence and kingdom principles into our lives and community. The meetings are informal and geared to the whole family, lasting about an hour and a half, including worship and personal stories of what God has done in our lives.

We are seeking to reach totally unchurched people by involvement in the community. Most people have come to the services by personal invitation from friends but anyone who wants to meet with our life transforming God is very welcome to join us.

Our first meeting in a home consisted of seven adults. These adults had a total of 9 children interested in coming to church.

Our first public meeting was on 14th May 2000. Thirty-five people came. Since then attendances have varied between ten and two hundred !
